Diamonds are Forever

Councillor Joel Williams attended the Lord Mayor's Spring Ball in aid of Noah's Ark Children's Hospital, which acted as one of the last official engagements of Lord Mayor, Councillor Dianne Rees. The event itself raised £10,000s for charity, bringing Councillor Rees' fundraising amount to over £200,000 during her year in office.

Speaking about the event, Councillor Williams said: "It is a huge privilege to be invited to the Lord Mayor's Spring Ball in aid of her chosen charity, Noah's Ark Children's Hospital. Councillor Rees has worked tirelessly over the last year to raise huge amounts of money for the charity.'

He continued: "We're also very privileged to have Dame Shirley Bassey attends today's dinner. She is a stalwart of Cardiff and represents the very best of our city. Unfortunately, her diary is looking very full over the next few years, so she had to decline my invitation to help me campaign on the doorsteps of Cardiff North!"
