On the 5th May, Councillor Williams in his capacity as a member of South Wales Fire and Rescue Authority attended the annual service of remembrance in aid of fallen firemen and women.
Following the service at the Holy Sepulchre Church, Councillor Williams laid a wreath at the Firefighters Memorial by St Paul’s Cathedral in remembrance of the brave men and women who have fallen in the line of duty. Speaking about the event, Councillor Williams said: "Today is about remembering those brave men and women who risked their lives in order to save others."
Joel continued: 'Firemen and women play such an important role in our community, so it was a real honour to lay a remembrance wreath in memory of those who have fallen whilst protecting the lives of others. It was a real pleasure to stand alongside the brave families of those who have lost loved ones - We must never forget their sacrifices."
